حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنِ التَّيْمِيِّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا يَمْنَعَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ هَيْبَةُ النَّاسِ، أَنْ يَتَكَلَّمَ بِحَقٍّ إِذَا رَآهُ أَوْ شَهِدَهُ أَوْ سَمِعَهُ " فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ: " وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ سَمِعْتُهُ "، وقَالَ أَبُو نَضْرَةَ: " وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ سَمِعْتُهُ " (٣)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: The awe, fear, and grandeur of people should not prevent any of you from speaking the truth when he sees it himself, witnesses it, or hears it. Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I wish I had not heard this hadith.
