Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The person with the lowest rank in Paradise will be the one whose face Allah will turn from Hell towards Paradise, and a shady tree will be presented before him. He will say, "O Lord! Bring me near to this tree so that I may enjoy its shade and eat its fruit." Allah will take a promise from him for that. Suddenly, he will see another tree and say, "O Lord! Bring me near to this tree so that I may enjoy its shade and eat its fruit." Allah will again take the same promise from him. Suddenly, he will see an even more beautiful tree and say, "O Lord! Bring me near to this tree so that I may enjoy its shade and eat its fruit." Allah will again take the same promise from him. Then he will see the shade of the people and hear their voices, so he will say, "O Lord! Admit me into Paradise." After this, there is a difference of opinion between Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) and another companion (may Allah be pleased with him): according to one of them, after being admitted into Paradise, he will be given the world and one time as much more, and according to the other, he will be given the world and ten times as much more. Then, when he enters Paradise, two wives from among the wide-eyed maidens (Hoor al-'Ayn) will come to him and say, "Praise be to Allah who gave you life for us and gave us life for you." Seeing this, he will say, "No one has been given such blessings as I have been given." And he (the Prophet) said: The lightest punishment in Hell will be for the person who will be made to wear two shoes of fire, due to the heat of which his brain will boil like a cauldron.
