حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنْ نَهَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيُسْأَلُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِيمَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْهُ أَنْ يُقَالَ: مَا مَنَعَكَ، ، أَنْ تُنْكِرَ الْمُنْكَرَ إِذْ رَأَيْتَهُ؟ قَالَ: فَمَنْ لَقَّنَهُ (١) اللهُ حُجَّتَهُ قَالَ: رَبِّ رَجَوْتُكَ، وَخِفْتُ النَّاسَ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: On the Day of Resurrection, you will be questioned about everything, even to the extent that you will be asked: When you saw a sinful act being committed, why did you not stop it? Then, the one to whom Allah grants understanding will say: O Lord! I hoped for Your forgiveness, but I feared the people.
