English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted in the court of the Messenger (ﷺ), "O Messenger of Allah! I have heard so-and-so two men being highly praised and it was mentioned that you gave them two dinars each." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "But by Allah! That man is not like that. I have given him from ten up to a hundred dinars. What does he say? Remember! Whoever among you leaves my presence after fulfilling his request is leaving with fire under his arm." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! Then why do you give them?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "What can I do? They do not accept anything else, and Allah does not like miserliness for me."
