Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man from the Ansar was overcome by need. His family said to him, "Go and request help from the Prophet (ﷺ)." So he went to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ), who at that time was delivering a sermon and was saying: "Whoever seeks chastity, Allah grants him chastity; whoever seeks sufficiency from Allah, Allah grants him sufficiency; and whoever asks us for something and we have it, we will give it to him." Hearing this, the man returned and did not ask the Prophet (ﷺ) for anything.
