In preparation for the highly anticipated 2022 World Cup, and sharing its values and culture with people from all over the world, Qatar has placed several murals with hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) across the country to introduce Islam to incoming World Cup fans.
The mural of the Prophet’s hadith quotes features calligraphy in English script and translations are seen in different streets across the Gulf nation. They contain hadiths about compassion, charity, and motivation that encourage people to always do good.
Some of the Prophetic hadiths shared are “Every good deed is a charity”, “He who is not merciful to others, will not be treated mercifully”, and “Guard yourselves from Hellfire, even with half of a date in charity. If one cannot find it, then with a kind word”.
Qatar seems to try its best to take advantage of the 2022 World Cup as a momentum to share its culture and values with visitors who come from all over the world.
FIFA World Cup 2022 will begin from November 20th till December 18th. This will be the first FIFA World Cup hosted in the Middle East. Last month Qatar hosted Street Child FIFA World Cup 2022. 28 teams representing 25 countries participated in the tournament. 13 girls teams and 15 boys teams participated in the event representing refugees and displaced children.
This year’s edition will be the first tournament hosted in the Middle East, the first in a Muslim-majority country, and the first to be held at the end of the calendar year, in November and December.
