Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam. Muslims around the world fast during the month of Ramadan. It is considered as a blessing from Allah for Muslims. The doors of the hell are closed during this month and Shaytan is chained. As it is evident during Ramadan Muslims are not allowed to drink or eat anything from the last third part before Fajr prayer till Maghrib. They fast to seek the mercy of Almighty Allah.

During fasting, Muslims should remain steadfast in religion and must maintain piety and purity on his body and behavior. He/She is not allowed to lie during fasting because it breaks the fast. By the blessings of this month, Muslims avoid themselves from trash talking and being abusive and many other sins are avoided. It is basically done to realize the blessing of Allah, Muslims shad throughout the year.

Muslims try to donate as much as they can during this month. Every year, Muslims get the chance to save themselves from hellfire by avoiding many habits that are destroying their good deeds. As many Non-Muslims work with the Muslims, they get inspired by the virtue of the month of Ramadan. Sometimes the blessings of Allah also fall upon Non-Muslims in the month of Ramadan.

One such incident is narrated below: A woman from Vietnam named Nguyen Thi Phuong Lam had embraced Islam in George Town. The Vietnamese who renamed herself as Nur Alisha is 29 years old and works as a line leader at a factory in Bayan Lepas.

She said, “Fasting, one of the five obligations that every Muslim fulfills, brought with it virtues like patience and tolerance. When I saw people fasting, it really opened up my heart to religion.

“I could see the true practice of Islam through the act of fasting, I have been in Malaysia for 10 years, but it was only last year that I decided to embrace Islam. I am so grateful that my family and friends have accepted my decision,” she added.

Nur Alisha, who converted to Islam before Ramadan last year, said she always spent time in prayer to strengthen her faith.

She also mentioned that she was slowly learning about Islam each day. It is a proud moment for the persons who made her realize the true religion. It is the best way to convert people to Islam by showing your teaching, love and religious activities.

When we take care of them, show love and respect them without discriminating, it creates a lovely feeling of Islam in their minds and hearts. Their inner conscience forces them to rethink their existing religion. It forces them to realize that they are not following the right religion.

A lot of things start to move inside their minds and they start thinking to overcome this disturbance which had made them think so much. They always look back from where they had come from, about their families and if they accept Islam, what kind of change it brings for them.

One of the greatest thing about them is that they always believe in truth and they are willing to accept it but It may take time because it’s not easy for anybody to take leave their religion but the only thing Muslims can do here is that they must support them throw their tough time and be with them as much as they can. And most importantly, keep them inviting to Islam.
