Hadith of the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him)

حَدِيثُ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ٢٢٣٣٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى الْبَكَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَصُوغُ لِأَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَحَدَّثْنَنِي أَنَّهُنَّ سَمِعْنَ (١) رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " الذَّهَبُ بِالذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةُ بِالْفِضَّةِ وَزْنًا بِوَزْنٍ، فَمَنْ زَادَ أَوْ اسْتَزَادَ فَقَدْ أَرْبَى " (٢)، ،

Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I was the goldsmith of the noble wives of the Prophet (ﷺ). They narrated to me that they heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: “Gold for gold and silver for silver should be sold equal in weight. Whoever adds or asks for an addition has engaged in usury.”
