Hadith of Abu Bashir al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ أَبِي بَشِيرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ (١)، ٢١٨٨٦ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي بَشِيرٍ، وَابْنَةَ أَبِي بَشِيرٍ، يُحَدِّثَانِ عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي الْحُمَّى: " أَبْرِدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ، فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Abu Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said regarding fever: "Cool it with water, for it is from the heat of Hell."

حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا بَشِيرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ، أَخْبَرَهُ: أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ، فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَسُولًا: " لَا يَبْقَيَنَّ فِي رَقَبَةِ بَعِيرٍ قِلَادَةٌ مِنْ وَتَرٍ، وَلَا قِلَادَةٌ، إِلَّا قُطِعَتْ "، ، قَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ: قَالَ: وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ: وَالنَّاسُ فِي مِيَاهِهِمْ (١) (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Abu Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he was with the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) on a journey, and the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) sent a messenger with this message: No camel should have a string necklace or any kind of necklace hanging from its neck; rather, it should be cut off.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي حَبَّانُ بْنُ وَاسِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، وَأَبِي بَشِيرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ: " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى بِهِمْ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ، فَمَرَّتْ امْرَأَةٌ بِالْبَطْحَاءِ، فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ، ، صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تَأَخَّرِي، فَرَجَعَتْ حَتَّى صَلَّى، ثُمَّ مَرَّتْ " (١)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abu Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) began to lead them in prayer, when a woman passed through the valley of Batha. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) gestured to her to stay back, so she went back, and when the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) finished the prayer, she then passed from there.

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ هَارُونَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْرَمَةُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ: رَآنِي أَبُو بَشِيرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا أُصَلِّي صَلَاةَ الضُّحَى حِينَ طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ، فَعَابَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَنَهَانِي، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا تُصَلُّوا حَتَّى تَرْتَفِعَ الشَّمْسُ، فَإِنَّهَا تَطْلُعُ فِي (٢) قَرْنَيِ الشَّيْطَانِ " (٣)، ،

Saeed bin Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I was performing the Duha (forenoon) prayer at the time of sunrise, when Abu Basheer Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) saw me. He considered it objectionable to pray at that time and forbade me from doing so, and said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Do not pray until the sun has risen high, because it rises between the two horns of Satan.
