Hadith of Ibn Abi Khuzaymah (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ ابْنِ أَبِي خِزَامَةَ (١)، ١٥٤٧٢ - حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي خُزَامَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ - وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَرَأَيْتَ دَوَاءً نَتَدَاوَى بِهِ، وَرُقًى نَسْتَرْقِي بِهَا، وَتُقًى نَتَّقِيهَا، أَتَرُدُّ مِنْ قَدَرِ اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ: " إِنَّهَا مِنْ قَدَرِ اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Abu Khuzamah that once I submitted in the court of the Messenger: O Messenger of Allah! Please tell me, these treatments we do, or the incantations we recite, or the precautions we take—can these things avert any part of Allah’s decree? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: These things are also a part of divine decree.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي خِزَامَةَ، أَحَدِ بَنِي الْحَارِثِ،، ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ دَوَاءً نَتَدَاوَى بِهِ، وَرُقًى نَسْتَرْقِي بِهَا، وَتُقًى نَتَّقِيهَا، (١) هَلْ يَرُدُّ ذَلِكَ مِنْ قَدَرِ اللهِ شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " ذَلِكَ مِنْ قَدَرِ اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى " (٢)،

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ ابْنَ أَبِي خُزَامَةَ، أَحَدَ بَنِي الْحَارِثِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ هُذَيْمٍ (٣) حَدَّثَهُ: أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ دَوَاءً نَتَدَاوَى بِهِ، وَرُقًى نَسْتَرْقِيهَا، وَتُقًى نَتَّقِيهَا، هَلْ يَرُدُّ ذَلِكَ مِنْ قَدَرِ اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى مِنْ شَيْءٍ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّهُ مِنْ قَدَرِ اللهِ عَزَّ، ، وَجَلَّ " (١)،

حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَيَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ (٢) ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي خُزَامَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ أَبِي: " وَهُوَ الصَّوَابُ كَذَا قَالَ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ "، ،

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
