Hadith of ‘Arfajah ibn Shurayh (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ عَرْفَجَةَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ، ١٨٩٩٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ،، ، عَنْ عَرْفَجَةَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ بَعْدِي هَنَاتٌ وَهَنَاتٌ " وَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ: " فَمَنْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ يُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُمْ جَمِيعٌ، فَاقْتُلُوهُ كَائِنًا مَنْ كَانَ مِنَ النَّاسِ " (١)،

It is narrated from Arfajah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Soon there will be turmoil and tribulations, so whoever seeks to create division among the Muslims "while they are united and in agreement," then strike his neck with the sword, whoever he may be.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَرْفَجَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّهُ (٢) سَتَكُونُ هَنَاتٌ وَهَنَاتٌ، فَمَنْ أَرَادَ (٣) أَنْ يُفَرِّقَ أَمْرَ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ، وَهِيَ جَمِيعٌ، فَاضْرِبُوهُ بِالسَّيْفِ كَائِنًا مَنْ كَانَ " (٤)، ،

It is narrated from Arfajah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Soon there will be turmoil and tribulations, so whoever seeks to create division among the Muslims "while they are united and in agreement," then strike his neck with the sword, whoever he may be.
