Hadith of a man from Thaqif (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ رَجُلٍ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ (١)، ١٨٧٧٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ شِبَاكٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي فُلَانٌ الثَّقَفِيُّ قَالَ: سَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ثَلَاثٍ، فَلَمْ يُرَخِّصْ لَنَا فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْهُنَّ، سَأَلْنَاهُ أَنْ يَرُدَّ إِلَيْنَا أَبَا بَكْرَةَ، وَكَانَ مَمْلُوكًا وَأَسْلَمَ قَبْلَنَا، فَقَالَ: " لَا، هُوَ طَلِيقُ اللهِ، ثُمَّ طَلِيقُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "، ثُمَّ سَأَلْنَاهُ أَنْ يُرَخِّصَ لَنَا فِي الشِّتَاءِ، وَكَانَتْ أَرْضُنَا أَرْضًا بَارِدَةً، يَعْنِي فِي الطَّهُورِ، فَلَمْ يُرَخِّصْ لَنَا، وَسَأَلْنَاهُ أَنْ يُرَخِّصَ لَنَا فِي الدُّبَّاءِ، فَلَمْ يُرَخِّصْ لَنَا فِيهِ (١)، ،

It is narrated from a Thaqafi companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that we requested three things from the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), but the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) did not grant us concession. We said to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) that our region is very cold, so grant us permission not to perform ablution before prayer, but the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) did not allow this. Then we asked for permission to use a gourd vessel, but at that time, he did not permit that either. Then we requested that Abu Bakrah be handed over to us, but the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) refused and said, "He is freed by Allah and His Messenger." In fact, when the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) laid siege to Ta’if, Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) escaped from there and accepted Islam.
