Hadith of a man from the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him)

حَدِيثُ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ١٨٠٥١ - حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَخْضَرِ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ عَطَاءَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ بَعْضَ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مُؤْمِنٌ مُجَاهِدٌ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ " قَالُوا: ثُمَّ مَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " ثُمَّ مُؤْمِنٌ فِي شِعْبٍ مِنَ الشِّعَابِ يَتَّقِي اللهَ، وَيَدَعُ النَّاسَ، ، مِنْ شَرِّهِ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Prophet (ﷺ), "O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) Who is the best of people?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "The believer who strives in the way of Allah with his life and wealth." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) Who after him?" He replied, "The believer who is in a mountain pass, fears Allah, and keeps people safe from his evil."
