Hadith of Fayruz al-Daylami (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ فَيْرُوزَ الدَّيْلَمِيِّ (١)، ١٨٠٣٧ - حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ فَيْرُوزَ الدَّيْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُمْ أَسْلَمُوا وَكَانَ فِيمَنْ أَسْلَمَ، فَبَعَثُوا وَفْدَهُمْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِبَيْعَتِهِمْ وَإِسْلَامِهِمْ، فَقَبِلَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهُمْ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، نَحْنُ مَنْ قَدْ عَرَفْتَ، وَجِئْنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ، وَأَسْلَمْنَا، فَمَنْ وَلِيُّنَا؟ قَالَ: " " اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ " " قَالُوا: حَسْبُنَا رَضِينَا (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Firoz (may Allah be pleased with him) that the people of his tribe became Muslim, and he himself was among them. They sent word to the Prophet (ﷺ) to inform him of their pledge of allegiance and acceptance of Islam. The Prophet (ﷺ) accepted their pledge and Islam. They said, "O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) You know which tribe we belong to, and you also know where we have come from. Now that we have become Muslim, who is our guardian?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ)." They said, "This is enough for us and we are pleased with it."

حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ضَمْرَةُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو السَّيْبَانِيِّ (١) ، عَنِ ابْنِ فَيْرُوزَ الدَّيْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، - قَالَ هَيْثَمٌ مَرَّةً: عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ فَيْرُوزَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ - قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، نَحْنُ مَنْ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ، وَجِئْنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ فَمَنْ وَلِيُّنَا؟ قَالَ: " اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Firoz (may Allah be pleased with him) that I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! You know which tribe we belong to and you also know where we have come from. Now that we have become Muslims, who is our guardian?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)."

حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا ضَمْرَةُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنِ ابْنِ فَيْرُوزَ الدَّيْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَيُنْقَضَنَّ الْإِسْلَامُ عُرْوَةً،، ، عُرْوَةً كَمَا يُنْقَضُ الْحَبْلُ قُوَّةً، قُوَّةً " (١)،

It is narrated from Firoz (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: A time will certainly come when the rope of Islam will be untwisted strand by strand, just as an ordinary rope is unraveled fiber by fiber.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي وَهْبٍ الْجَيْشَانِيِّ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ فَيْرُوزَ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ فَيْرُوزَ أَدْرَكَهُ الْإِسْلَامُ وَتَحْتَهُ أُخْتَانِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " طَلِّقْ أَيَّتُهُمَا شِئْتَ " (٢)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ، وقَالَ يَحْيَى: مَرَّةً حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمَعَافِرِيِّ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ فَيْرُوزَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ أَدْرَكَهُ الْإِسْلَامُ (١)،

Dahhak bin Firoz says that when his father Firoz (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam, he had two sisters in his marriage. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: "Divorce whichever one of them you wish." Dahhak bin Firoz (may Allah be pleased with him) says that his father witnessed the time of Islam.

حَدَّثَنَا مَوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي وَهْبٍ الْجَيْشَانِيِّ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ فَيْرُوزَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: " أَسْلَمْتُ وَعِنْدِي امْرَأَتَانِ أُخْتَانِ، فَأَمَرَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ أُطَلِّقَ إِحْدَاهُمَا " (٢)،

It is narrated from Firoz (may Allah be pleased with him) that when I accepted Islam, I had two sisters in my marriage. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me, "Divorce whichever one of them you wish."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَيَّاشٍ (٣) يَعْنِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيَّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الدَّيْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ فَيْرُوزَ قَالَ: قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا أَصْحَابُ أَعْنَابٍ وَكَرْمٍ، وَقَدْ نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ،، ، فَمَا نَصْنَعُ بِهَا؟ قَالَ: " تَتَّخِذُونَهُ زَبِيبًا " قَالَ: فَنَصْنَعُ بِالزَّبِيبِ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ: " تَنْقَعُونَهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُمْ، وَتَشْرَبُونَهُ عَلَى عَشَائِكُمْ، وَتَنْقَعُونَهُ عَلَى عَشَائِكُمْ، وَتَشْرَبُونَهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُمْ "، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، نَحْنُ مَنْ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ، وَنَحْنُ نُزُولٌ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْ، مَنْ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ، فَمَنْ وَلِيُّنَا؟ قَالَ: " اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: حَسْبِي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ (١)، ،

It is narrated from Firoz (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself before the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) We are people who own vineyards, and now the command regarding the prohibition of wine has been revealed. So what should we do with our grapes?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Make raisins from them." I said, "What will we do with the raisins?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Soak them in water in the morning and drink it at night, and soak them in water at night and drink it in the morning." I said, "O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) You know to which people we belong, and you also know among which people we have come to you. Tell me, who is our guardian?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah and His Messenger." I said, "O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) this is sufficient for me."
