Hadith of Abu Kulayb (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ أَبِي كُلَيْبٍ (١) (٢)، ، ١٥٤٣٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: أُخْبِرْتُ، عَنْ عُثَيْمِ (١) بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، (٢) أَنَّهُ جَاءَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: قَدْ أَسْلَمْتُ، فَقَالَ: " أَلْقِ عَنْكَ شَعَرَ الْكُفْرِ " يَقُولُ: احْلِقْ، قَالَ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي آخَرُ مَعَهُ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِآخَرَ: " أَلْقِ عَنْكَ شَعَرَ الْكُفْرِ، وَاخْتَتِنْ " (٣)، ،

It is narrated from Abu Kaleeb that he presented himself before the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: I have accepted Islam. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Remove the hair of the time of disbelief from yourself, that is, shave your head. And the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to another man: Remove the hair of the time of disbelief from yourself, that is, shave your head and get circumcised.
