Hadith of a neighbor of Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (may Allah be pleased with her)

حَدِيثُ جَارٍ لِخَدِيجَةَ بِنْتِ خُوَيْلِدٍ، ١٧٩٤٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي جَارٌ، لِخَدِيجَةَ بِنْتِ خُوَيْلِدٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لِخَدِيجَةَ: " أَيْ خَدِيجَةُ، وَاللهِ لَا أَعْبُدُ اللَّاتَ (١) ، وَاللهِ لَا أَعْبُدُ الْعُزَّى أَبَدًا " قَالَ: فَتَقُولُ خَدِيجَةُ: خَلِّ اللَّاتَ، خَلِّ الْعُزَّى، قَالَ: كَانَتْ صَنَمَهُمُ الَّتِي كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ ثُمَّ يَضْطَجِعُونَ (٢)، ،

A neighbor of Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying to Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her): "O Khadijah! By Allah, I will never worship Lat. By Allah, I will never worship Uzza." Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Fulfill your oath regarding Uzza and others." The narrator says that these were the names of their idols which the polytheists used to worship, and then they would lie down on their beds.
