Hadith of Ibn Mas'adah, the commander of the armies (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ ابْنِ مَسْعَدَةَ صَاحِبِ الْجُيُوشِ (١)، ١٧٥٩٢ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَا: أَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعَدَةَ، صَاحِبِ الْجَيْشِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِنِّي قَدْ بَدُنْتُ، فَمَنْ فَاتَهُ رُكُوعِي أَدْرَكَهُ فِي بُطْءِ قِيَامِي " وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ: " فِي بَطِيءِ قِيَامِي " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Ibn Masadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying: "Now my body has become heavy, so whoever misses my bowing (ruku'), he will catch it during the pause in my standing (qiyam)."
