Hadith of Abu Malik Al-Ashja'i from the Prophet (peace be upon him)

حَدِيثُ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ١٧٢٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ (١) ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " أَعْظَمُ الْغُلُولِ عِنْدَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ذِرَاعٌ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ، تَجِدُونَ الرَّجُلَيْنِ جَارَيْنِ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَوْ فِي الدَّارِ، فَيَقْتَطِعُ أَحَدُهُمَا مِنْ حَظِّ صَاحِبِهِ ذِرَاعًا، فَإِذَا اقْتَطَعَهُ طُوِّقَهُ مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ إِلَى (٢) يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ " (٣)، ،

It is narrated from Abu Malik Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet, the Leader of both worlds (ﷺ) said: The greatest betrayal in the sight of Allah is betrayal in a span of land. You see that two men are neighbors in a piece of land or a house, yet one of them unjustly takes a span from his companion's share. On the Day of Resurrection, the one who does this will have a collar made from that portion out of the seven earths placed around his neck.
