Hadith of Khursha

حَدِيثُ خَرَشَةَ، ١٧٠١٠ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِمْيَرٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا كَثِيرٍ الْمُحَارِبِيَّ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ خَرَشَةَ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " سَتَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِي فِتْنَةٌ، النَّائِمُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَقْظَانِ، وَالْقَاعِدُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْقَائِمِ، وَالْقَائِمُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ السَّاعِي، فَمَنْ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَلْيَمْشِ بِسَيْفِهِ إِلَى صَفَاةٍ (١) فَلْيَضْرِبْهُ بِهَا حَتَّى يَنْكَسِرَ، ثُمَّ لِيَضْطَجِعْ لَهَا حَتَّى تَنْجَلِيَ عَمَّا انْجَلَتْ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Khursha bin Har (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: After me, tribulations will appear. In that time, the one who is asleep will be better than the one who is awake, the one who is sitting will be better than the one who is standing, and the one who is standing will be better than the one who is walking. Whoever faces such a time should take his sword to Safa and strike it until it breaks, and instead of standing up to these tribulations, he should sit down until the light appears.
