Hadith of Hayyah al-Tamimi

حَدِيثُ حَيَّةَ (١) التَّمِيمِيِّ، ١٦٦٢٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي حَيَّةُ التَّمِيمِيُّ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " لَا شَيْءَ فِي الْهَامِ، وَالْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ، وَأَصْدَقُ الطِّيَرِ الْفَأْلُ " (٢)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

Hiyyah Taymi's father says that he heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: There is no reality in anything being inside the skull of the dead; the evil eye is true, and the truest omen is a good omen.

حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ، وَعَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يُصَلِّي وَهُوَ مُسْبِلٌ إِزَارَهُ إِذْ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اذْهَبْ فَتَوَضَّأْ "، قَالَ (١) : فَذَهَبَ فَتَوَضَّأَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اذْهَبْ فَتَوَضَّأْ "، قَالَ: فَذَهَبَ فَتَوَضَّأَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ مَا لَكَ أَمَرْتَهُ (٢) يَتَوَضَّأُ؟ ثُمَّ سَكَتَّ قَالَ: " إِنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي وَهُوَ مُسْبِلٌ إِزَارَهُ وَإِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يَقْبَلُ صَلَاةَ عَبْدٍ مُسْبِلٍ إِزَارَهُ " (٣)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man was performing prayer with his lower garment hanging below his ankles. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, "Go and perform ablution again." He gave this order twice, and each time the man performed ablution and returned. The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is the matter that you first ordered him to perform ablution and then remained silent?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He was performing prayer with his lower garment hanging below his ankles, and Allah Almighty does not accept the prayer of such a person."
