Hadith of a man whose name was not mentioned

حَدِيثُ رَجُلٍ لَمْ يُسَمِّهِ، ١٦٦١٧ - حَدَّثَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ مُهَاجِرٍ الصَّائِغِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ـ لَمْ يُسَمِّهِ ـ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَجُلًا ـ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (١) ـ يَقْرَأُ: قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ، قَالَ: " أَمَّا هَذَا فَقَدْ بَرِئَ مِنَ الشِّرْكِ "، وَسَمِعَ آخَرَ يَقْرَأُ: قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ فَقَالَ: " أَمَّا هَذَا فَقَدْ غُفِرَ لَهُ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from a Sheikh who met the Prophet (peace be upon him) that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) heard a man reciting Surah Al-Kafirun. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "He has become free from shirk." Then he saw another man reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "By its blessing, he has been forgiven."
