Hadith of ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid from his father from the Prophet (peace be upon him)

حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ١٦٤٠٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ: " أَرِقَّاءَكُمْ أَرِقَّاءَكُمْ أَرِقَّاءَكُمْ، أَطْعِمُوهُمْ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ، وَاكْسُوهُمْ مِمَّا تَلْبَسُونَ، فَإِنْ جَاءُوا بِذَنْبٍ لَا تُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تَغْفِرُوهُ فَبِيعُوا عِبَادَ اللهِ وَلَا تُعَذِّبُوهُمْ " (١)، ،

Abdur Rahman bin Yazid narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace be upon him), while addressing during the Farewell Pilgrimage, said three times: Take care of your slaves; feed them what you eat, clothe them with what you wear. If they make a mistake which you cannot forgive, O servants of Allah, sell them, but do not punish them.
