Hadith of some of the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him)

حَدِيثُ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ١٥٩٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ النَّاسَ بِالْفِطْرِ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ، وَقَالَ: " تَقَوَّوْا لِعَدُوِّكُمْ "، وَصَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: قَالَ الَّذِي حَدَّثَنِي: لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْعَرْجِ، " يَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ الْمَاءَ مِنَ الْعَطَشِ " - أَوْ مِنَ الْحَرِّ - ثُمَّ قِيلَ: (١)، ، يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ طَائِفَةً مِنَ النَّاسِ قَدْ صَامُوا حِينَ صُمْتَ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ بِالْكَدِيدِ " دَعَا بِقَدَحٍ، فَشَرِبَ " فَأَفْطَرَ النَّاسُ (١)، ،

It is narrated from a Companion that in the year of the conquest of Makkah, the Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed the people to break their fast, saying: "Gain strength for your enemy." However, the Prophet (peace be upon him) himself kept the fast. The narrator says: I saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) at the place of ‘Arj pouring water over his head due to thirst or heat. During this time, someone informed him: "O Messenger of Allah! When the people saw you fasting, they also kept the fast." So, when the Prophet (peace be upon him) reached the place of Kudayd, he asked for a bowl of water, drank from it, and the people also broke their fast.
