Hadith of Muhammad ibn Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ (١)، ١٥٨٧٠ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ، " أَنَّهُ صَادَ أَرْنَبَيْنِ، فَلَمْ يَجِدْ حَدِيدَةً يَذْبَحُهُمَا بِهَا، فَذَبَحَهُمَا بِمَرْوَةٍ، فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَرَهُ بِأَكْلِهِمَا " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Safwan that once he hunted two rabbits. At that time, he did not have any sharp iron instrument to slaughter them, so he slaughtered both of them with a sharp-edged stone and then presented himself before the Prophet (ﷺ). حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا دَاوُدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ، أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَرْنَبَيْنِ مُعَلِّقُهُمَا، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ (١)، ،

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
