Hadith of Hisham ibn Hakim ibn Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ (١)، ١٥٨٤٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ،، ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ، قَالَ: مَرَّ بِقَوْمٍ يُعَذَّبُونَ فِي الْجِزْيَةِ بِفِلَسْطِينَ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُعَذِّبُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الَّذِينَ يُعَذِّبُونَ النَّاسَ فِي الدُّنْيَا " (١)، ،

Once in Palestine, Ibn Hazam passed by some dhimmis who were being punished for not paying the jizya. He said, "I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say that Allah will punish those people on the Day of Judgment who punish others."
