Hadith of Abu Hadard al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ أَبِي حَدْرَدٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ، ١٥٧٠٦ - حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي حَدْرَدٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَفْتِيهِ فِي مَهْرِ امْرَأَةٍ، فَقَالَ: " كَمْ أَمْهَرْتَهَا؟ " قَالَ: مِائَتَيْ دِرْهَمٍ، فَقَالَ: " لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَغْرِفُونَ مِنْ بَطَحَانَ مَا زِدْتُمْ " (١)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

It is narrated from Abu Hadard Aslami that once he came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) with a request for assistance regarding the dowry of his wife. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, "How much dowry did you fix for her?" He said, "Two hundred dirhams." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Even if you had drawn handfuls of water from Bathan, you would not have added more than this."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَدْرَدٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ: أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ فَذَكَرَ، مِثْلَهُ (١)، ،
