Hadith of Maymunah bint Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with her)

حَدِيثُ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ سَعْدٍ (١)، ٢٧٦٢٤ - حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ، وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ الضَّنِّيِّ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ سَعْدٍ، مَوْلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ وَلَدِ الزِّنَا قَالَ: " لَا خَيْرَ فِيهِ نَعْلَانِ أُجَاهِدُ بِهِمَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أُعْتِقَ وَلَدَ زِنا " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Maymunah bint Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with her), who was a freed slave of the Prophet, that a person asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) about the "illegitimate child." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "There is no good in him. In my view, the two sandals which I wear while striving in the path of Allah are better than freeing any child of adultery."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ الضَّنِّيِّ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ، مَوْلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَبَّلَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ (١) قَالَ: " قَدْ أَفْطَرَا (٢) " (٣)،

It is narrated from Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) that a person asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about this issue: If a man kisses his wife while both are fasting, what is the ruling? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Their fast is broken."

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ثَوْرٌ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي سَوْدَةَ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ، أَنَّ مَيْمُونَةَ، مَوْلَاةَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ أَفْتِنَا فِي بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ فَقَالَ: " أَرْضُ الْمَنْشَرِ، وَالْمَحْشَرِ ائْتُوهُ فَصَلُّوا فِيهِ فَإِنَّ، ، صَلَاةً فِيهِ كَأَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ " (١) قَالَتْ: أَرَأَيْتَ مَنْ لَمْ يُطِقْ أَنْ يَتَحَمَّلَ إِلَيْهِ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُ قَالَ: " فَلْيُهْدِ إِلَيْهِ زَيْتًا يُسْرَجُ فِيهِ (٢) ، فَإِنَّ مَنْ أَهْدَى لَهُ كَانَ كَمَنْ صَلَّى فِيهِ " (٣)، ، •

It is narrated from Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she submitted in the court of the Prophet: O Messenger of Allah! Tell us something about Bayt al-Maqdis. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "It is the land of resurrection and gathering. Go there and pray in it, for praying one prayer in Bayt al-Maqdis is equal to a thousand prayers elsewhere." She asked: Tell me, if a person does not have the ability to go there, what should he do? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "He should send olive oil to be used in its lamps, for the one who sends a gift to it is like the one who has prayed in it."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى الْهَرَوِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ (١)، ،

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
