Hadith of Salma bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her)

حَدِيثُ سَلْمَى بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ (١)، ٢٧٣٧٥ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ (٢) ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ سَلْمَى بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ قَالَتْ: بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي نِسْوَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ (٣) فِيمَا أَخَذَ عَلَيْنَا: أَنْ " لَا تَغْشُشْنَ (٤) أَزْوَاجَكُنَّ "، قَالَتْ: فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفْنَا قُلْنَا: وَاللهِ لَوْ سَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا غِشُّ أَزْوَاجِنَا؟ قَالَتْ: فَرَجَعْنَا فَسَأَلْنَاهُ، فَقَالَ: " أَنْ تُحَابِينَ - أَوْ تُهَادِينَ - بِمَالِهِ غَيْرَهُ " (٥)، ،

It is narrated from Salma bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) that I pledged allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ) along with some Ansari women, and among the conditions of allegiance was also this condition that you will not deceive your husbands. When we were about to return, it occurred to us that we should ask the Prophet (ﷺ) what is meant by deceiving the husbands? So we turned back and asked the Prophet (ﷺ) this question, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "It means giving your husband's wealth to someone else as a gift."
