Hadith of Salma bint Hamzah

حَدِيثُ سَلْمَى بِنْتِ حَمْزَةَ (١)، ٢٧٢٨٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ سَلْمَى بِنْتِ حَمْزَةَ، " أَنَّ مَوْلَاهَا مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ ابْنَةً (٢) فَوَرَّثَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ابْنَتَهُ النِّصْفَ، وَوَرَّثَ يَعْلَى النِّصْفَ "، وَكَانَ ابْنَ سَلْمَى (٣)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

It is narrated from Salma bint Hamza (may Allah be pleased with her) that one of her freed slaves passed away leaving behind a daughter. The Prophet (ﷺ) made his daughter the heir of half of his estate and made Ya'la, who was the son of Salma (may Allah be pleased with her), the heir of the other half.
