Hadith of the wife of Rafi‘ ibn Khadij (may Allah be pleased with her)

حَدِيثُ امْرَأَةِ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ (١)، ٢٧١٢٨ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، وَعَفَّانُ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَتْنِي جَدَّتِي يَعْنِي امْرَأَةَ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ: عَفَّانُ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ أُمِّ أَبِيهِ امْرَأَةِ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ، أَنَّ رَافِعًا رَمَى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ، أو (٢) يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ ـ قَالَ: أَنَا أَشُكُّ ـ بِسَهْمٍ فِي ثَنْدُوَتِهِ، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، انْزِعِ السَّهْمَ، قَالَ: " يَا رَافِعُ، إِنْ شِئْتَ نَزَعْتُ السَّهْمَ وَالْقُطْبَةَ جَمِيعًا، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ نَزَعْتُ السَّهْمَ وَتَرَكْتُ الْقُطْبَةَ، وَشَهِدْتُ لَكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَنَّكَ شَهِيدٌ "، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، بَلْ انْزِعِ السَّهْمَ وَدَعِ الْقُطْبَةَ، وَاشْهَدْ لِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَنِّي شَهِيدٌ، قَالَ: فَنَزَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ السَّهْمَ وَتَرَكَ الْقُطْبَةَ (٣)، ، .................................، ،

It is narrated from the wife of Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Uhud or Khaybar, an arrow struck Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) in the chest from somewhere. He presented himself before the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Please pull out this arrow!" The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Rafi'! If you wish, I can remove both the arrow and its tip, and if you wish, I can remove the arrow and leave the tip, and I promise to bear witness to your martyrdom on the Day of Resurrection." He said: "O Messenger of Allah! Just remove the arrow and leave the tip, and bear witness to my martyrdom on the Day of Resurrection." So the Prophet (ﷺ) removed the arrow and left the tip.
