Hadith of a man from the Ansar (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، ٢٣٦٨٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَنَّ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ أَخْبَرَ عَطَاءً: أَنَّهُ قَبَّلَ امْرَأَتَهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ فَأَمَرَ امْرَأَتَهُ فَسَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ " فَأَخْبَرَتْهُ امْرَأَتُهُ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُرَخَّصُ لَهُ فِي أَشْيَاءَ، فَارْجِعِي إِلَيْهِ، فَقُولِي لَهُ: فَرَجَعَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: قَالَ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُرَخَّصُ لَهُ فِي أَشْيَاءَ، فَقَالَ: " أَنَا أَتْقَاكُمْ لِلَّهِ، وَأَعْلَمُكُمْ بِحُدُودِ اللهِ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from an Ansari companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, during the time of Prophethood, he kissed his wife while fasting. Then, upon realizing, he mentioned it to his wife. So she asked the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) about it. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The Prophet of Allah also does this." The woman informed her husband, and he said: "The Prophet (ﷺ) is permitted to do many things. Go back and tell him this." So she went back and said: "He says that the Prophet (ﷺ) is permitted to do many things." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "I am the one among you who fears Allah the most and knows His limits the best."
