Hadith of Abdullah ibn Khubayb (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ خُبَيْبٍ (١)، • ٢٢٦٦٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ أَسِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي أَسِيدٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ خُبَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: أَصَابَنَا طَشٌّ وَظُلْمَةٌ، فَانْتَظَرْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيُصَلِّيَ لَنَا، فَخَرَجَ فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي فَقَالَ: " قُلْ ". فَسَكَتُّ. قَالَ: " قُلْ ". قُلْتُ: مَا أَقُولُ؟ قَالَ: " قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ، وَالْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ حِينَ تُمْسِي، وَحِينَ تُصْبِحُ ثَلَاثًا تَكْفِيكَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ (٢) " (٣)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Khubaib (may Allah be pleased with him) that once it was raining and dark, and we were waiting for the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) for prayer. In the meantime, the Prophet (ﷺ) came out and took hold of my hand and said, "Say." I remained silent. The Prophet (ﷺ) said again, so I asked, "What should I say?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Recite 'Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad' and the Mu'awwidhatayn (Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas) three times in the morning and evening. This will suffice you for every day, twice a day."
