Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ: " شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ - أَوْ كَادَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ - مَلَأَ اللهُ أَجْوَافَهُمْ، أَوْ قُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) that The Prophet (ﷺ) said on the day of al-Khandaq:
`They distracted us from the middle prayer until the sun set - or until the sun was about to set, May Allah fill their stomachs - or their graves - with fire.”
