حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ زِيَادٍ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ "، قَالَ: فَقَالَ عُكَّاشَةُ: يَا، ، رَسُولَ اللهِ، ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنْهُمْ "، قَالَ: فَقَامَ آخَرُ، (١) فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ: " سَبَقَكَ بِهَا عُكَّاشَةُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) say: Seventy thousand people from my Ummah will enter Paradise without reckoning. Ukasha bin Mihsan (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up, lifting his sheet, and said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), pray to Allah that He includes me among them." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) prayed, "O Allah, include him among them." Then another man stood up and made the same request, but the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Ukasha has preceded you."
