حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سَلْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ النَّخَعِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " مَنْ تَسَمَّى بِاسْمِي فَلَا يَتَكَنَّى بِكُنْيَتِي، وَمَنْ تَكَنَّى بِكُنْيَتِي، فَلَا يَتَسَمَّى بِاسْمِي "، (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever names himself after my name should not adopt my kunya, and whoever adopts my kunya should not take my name.
