حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " نَزَلَ نَبِيٌّ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ تَحْتَ شَجَرَةٍ، فَلَدَغَتْهُ نَمْلَةٌ، فَأَمَرَ بِجَهَازِهِ فَأُخْرِجَ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَأُحْرِقَتْ بِالنَّارِ، فَأَوْحَى الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِ: فَهَلَّا نَمْلَةً وَاحِدَةً " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: A prophet camped under a tree. A certain ant bit him, so he ordered his belongings to be moved from there and set fire to the entire ant colony. Allah sent revelation to him: Why did you not punish only the one ant? (Only one ant had bitten, not all of them.)
