Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ أُمُّ الْقُرْآنِ، وَأُمُّ الْكِتَابِ، وَالسَّبْعُ الْمَثَانِي " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said regarding Surah Al-Fatiha: "This is Umm al-Qur'an and Umm al-Kitab, and this is the Sab‘ al-Mathani."
