حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى، وَمُحَمَّدٌ، ابْنَا عُبَيْدٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ بَدَا جَفَا، وَمَنْ تَبِعَ الصَّيْدَ غَفَلَ، وَمَنْ أَتَى أَبْوَابَ السُّلْطَانِ افْتُتِنَ، وَمَا ازْدَادَ عَبْدٌ مِنَ السُّلْطَانِ قُرْبًا، إِلَّا ازْدَادَ مِنَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بُعْدًا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever lives in the villages wrongs himself; whoever pursues hunting becomes heedless; whoever comes to the doors of kings falls into tribulation; and the closer a person gets to a king, the farther he gets from Allah.
