حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا تَقَاضَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعِيرًا، فَقَالُوا: مَا نَجِدُ إِلَّا أَفْضَلَ مِنْ سِنِّهِ، فَقَالَ: " أَعْطُوهُ "، فَقَالَ: أَوْفَيْتَنِي أَوْفَى اللهُ لَكَ، فقَالَ: " خِيَارُ النَّاسِ أَحْسَنُهُمْ قَضَاءً " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin came to the service of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) to demand his camel. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted that they could not find a camel of the required age; every camel was older than that. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Then give him a camel of greater age." The Bedouin said, "You have paid me in full, may Allah grant you in full." The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The best among you is the one who is best in repaying debts."
