Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: I have been commanded to fight the people until they say La ilaha illallah (there is no god but Allah). When they say the kalimah, they have protected their lives and wealth from me, except for the right of this kalimah, and their reckoning is with Allah. When the fitnah of apostasy spread, Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him): How can you fight them when I heard the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) say this? Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: By Allah! I will not differentiate between prayer and zakat, and I will surely fight those who separate the two. Thus, we fought with him, and afterwards we saw goodness in this.
