Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Dawood (peace be upon him) had a great sense of protective jealousy. When he would leave the house, the doors of his house would be closed, and until his return, no one could go to his family. One day, as usual, he left his house and the doors were closed. His wife looked into the house and saw a man standing in the middle of the house. She asked the people present in the house, "The door of the house is closed, how did this man enter the house? By Allah! You will embarrass Dawood in front of him." After a short while, Dawood (peace be upon him) returned and saw a man standing right in the middle of the house. He asked him, "Who are you?" He replied, "I am the one who does not fear kings, and nothing can stop me." Dawood (peace be upon him) said, "By Allah! You are the Angel of Death. Welcome to the command of Allah," and he lay down on the ground, where his soul was taken, and the angel completed his task. When the sun rose, Sulaiman (peace be upon him) ordered the birds to provide shade over Dawood (peace be upon him), so the birds gave him shade. Then, when darkness spread over the earth, Sulaiman (peace be upon him) told the birds, "Fold your wings one by one." Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) demonstrated the state of the birds to us practically and closed his hand. On that day, the hawk with long wings prevailed.
