حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا طِيَرَةَ، وَخَيْرُهَا الْفَأْلُ "، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا الْفَأْلُ؟ قَالَ: " الْكَلِمَةُ الصَّالِحَةُ يَسْمَعُهَا أَحَدُكُمْ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) say: There is no reality in bad omens, but "fa’l" is the best. Someone asked, O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by "fa’l"? He replied: A good word that any of you hears.
