Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) gave the example of a person "who sits in a gathering and hears words of wisdom, but only selects and conveys the wrong things from it to his companion. His example is like that of a person who comes to a shepherd and says, 'O shepherd! Slaughter a goat for me from your flock.' The shepherd replies, 'Go and bring the ear of the best one among them,' and he goes and brings the ear of the flock's dog."
