حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي لَهِيعَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَرْدِ (١) ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْخَيْلَ الْمُنَفِّلَةَ، فَإِنَّهَا إِنْ تَلْقَ تَفِرَّ، وَإِنْ تَغْنَمْ تَغْلُلْ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) say: "Refrain from using those horses that become fat by eating fragrant grass, for if they encounter the enemy, they run away, and if war booty is obtained, they commit treachery."
