Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ: إِنَّ أَبَا عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّهُ لَيُسْتَجَابُ، ، لِأَحَدِكُمْ مَا لَمْ يَعْجَلْ، فَيَقُولُ: قَدْ دَعَوْتُ رَبِّي فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِبْ لِي " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Your supplication will certainly be accepted as long as there is no haste. Haste means that a person starts saying: I have made so many supplications to my Lord, but He does not accept them.
