Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " قَلْبُ الشَّيْخِ شَابٌّ فِي، ، حُبِّ اثْنَتَيْنِ: طُولِ الْحَيَاةِ، وَكَثْرَةِ الْمَالِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: In an old man, the love for two things becomes young: a long life and abundance of wealth and property.
