حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، وَالْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ،، ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " سَبَقَ دِرْهَمٌ دِرْهَمَيْنِ "، قَالُوا: وَكَيْفَ ذَاكَ؟ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: " كَانَ لِرَجُلٍ دِرْهَمَانِ، فَتَصَدَّقَ أَجوَدَهُمَا، فَانْطَلَقَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عُرْضِ مَالِهِ، فَأَخَذَ مِنْهُ مِائَةَ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ، فَتَصَدَّقَ بِهَا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "One dirham surpassed two dirhams." The noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! How is that?" He replied, "A man had only two dirhams, and he gave one of them in charity. Another man went to his vast wealth and took out one hundred thousand dirhams and gave them in charity."
