حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ، فَرَآهُمْ، ، عِزِينَ مُتَفَرِّقِينَ، قَالَ: فَغَضِبَ غَضَبًا شَدِيدًا مَا رَأَيْنَاهُ غَضِبَ غَضَبًا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُ، قَالَ: " وَاللهِ، لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ رَجُلًا يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ، ثُمَّ أَتَتَبَّعَ هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ يَتَخَلَّفُونَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي دُورِهِمْ، فَأُحَرِّقَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ " وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ: دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) came to the mosque and saw people in separate groups. The Prophet (peace be upon him) became so intensely angry that we had never seen him in such severe anger before, and he said: "By Allah, I had intended to order a man to lead the people in prayer, and then go out in search of those who stay back from the prayer and remain sitting in their homes, and set fire to their houses." (Sometimes the narrator would specify the restriction of the Isha prayer.)
