حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ، ، فِتْيَانِي فَيَجْمَعُوا حَطَبًا، ثُمَّ آمُرَ رَجُلًا يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ، ثُمَّ أُخَالِفُ إِلَى رِجَالٍ يَتَخَلَّفُونَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ، فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ، وَايْمُ اللهِ، لَوْ يَعْلَمُ أَحَدُهُمْ أَنَّ لَهُ بِشُهُودِهَا عَرْقًا سَمِينًا، أَوْ مِرْمَاتَيْنِ، لَشَهِدَهَا، وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِيهَا لَأَتَوْهَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: I intended to order my young men to collect firewood, then I would order a man to lead the people in prayer, and I would go behind to those people who do not participate in the prayer and set fire to their houses. By Allah, if any of them knew that by coming to the prayer he would receive a large, fat bone or two fine hoofs, he would surely participate in it. And if they knew the reward for it, they would surely participate in the prayer, even if they had to crawl on their knees.
