حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " رُبَّ صَائِمٍ حَظُّهُ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ الْجُوعُ وَالْعَطَشُ، وَرُبَّ قَائِمٍ حَظُّهُ مِنْ قِيَامِهِ السَّهَرُ " (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "There are many who fast but gain nothing from their fast except hunger and thirst, and there are many who stand in prayer at night but gain nothing from their standing except sleeplessness."
